I am really enjoying reading this Bible because it is filled with boxes of information that teach me things about Jesus that are intriguing and make me think about the stories being told. It has bits of factual and surprising non-fiction mixed in with the religious passages and this helps me interpret the message of the Bible...I have already recommended this Bible to my friends.
When I saw the cover, I was instantly like WOW, it's Bear Grylls. I know him from the TV and Scouts. I'd love to have adventures like him, and I like the way the Bible tells us how to live our lives better.
I found it helpful that tricky verses were explained, like 'Why was Jesus rude?' The field guides at the start of each book help me know what's going to happen.
I like the pictures in between the books - it helps me understand and I want to read more of the Bible.
I like the colourful pages in between the chapters, that explain about how to be a better Christian, so it helps us to live in God's way.
It is helpful to have lots of interaction every page so you don't give up reading the Bible.
I would definitely recommend this Bible to young curious minds, children who see themselves as explorers in the footsteps of Bear Grylls, and who want to learn more about the world and their own feelings as they explore their faith.
Having information about various people in the bible, as well as historical and cultural contexts, has been really helpful for us as we read together after dinner... a nice win for parents!
My son's first response when he opened it was 'Wow - this is really cool' - he especially liked the map of the Bible books. The first night we opened this together read a chapter of Genesis - as I kissed him goodnight he said - 'We should do this every night'
The questions throughout the verses and chapters are so engaging for children and adults.
Beautifully illustrated, it makes reading the Bible so much fun, with thoughtful comments and super-useful guides such as maps, factual pictures and historical background.
My girl got stuck straight in and asked if we could read it together so she could understand what it all meant.
